How can i use photoshop to virtually redecorate a room?

I will be helping redecorate a house soon, but we first want to see how it would look with the colours / materials we have chosen.

Mainly i want to focus on the walls / floor. we currently have flowery wallpaper but will be changed to a plain colour.

i do have good photoshop skills, but am looking for tutorials / tips on how i can do this.

If you can’t imagine how the result would look, then I’d say you haven’t got good photoshop skills either.

What you want to do is just a waste of time, of course you could use photoshop if thats what you wanted, but i doubt you find any useful tutorials teaching you how to complete this task.

You may as well go all the way, and re-create the whole house in 3d, which of cause would be even worse then the first suggestion.

I would suggest you play around with the transform tools, but you may also want to scale the photos of the house, along with the photos/scannings of the textures you want to use. It may be required to re-create the textures from scratch, so that you can create seamless textures in a suitable size for you to work with.

You may want to consider filling a layer with the new texture, and use the transformation tool to rotate/fit it to the wall, finally you should cut away any overlapping texture and apply a blur to the new layer, to get rid of the "hard" edges.

Above can easily be done by applying a temporary transparency to the layer, and remove it once done.

What program is used to record photoshop retouches?

I like to do retouching, and I’ve noticed on youtube people record themselves retouching photos in photoshop. I have photoshop, but how do I record it for use as a video? Thank you so much!

You can use Camtasia Studio, it allows you to add audio and edit your recording after you are done capturing it.

How is the photoshop CS4 student version different from the normal CS4?

I am planning to buy the CS4 student version of adobe photoshop, and yes I am a student, but I was wondering what the differences between the programmes are, are a lot of features missing?

How come when I start up Photoshop, the Quick Mask button on the toolbar is cut off?

I have Photoshop CS4 for mac, and when I open up Photoshop with the toolbar in its traditional style (two columns), the Quick Mask button is cut off by 3/4. When I change the style of the toolbar to one column, and then back to two, it’s fine. How come this happens only when opening it up?

Can adobe photoshop brushes work for photoshop elements?

I know, stupid question
But im not quite sure.
Im just curious if adobe photoshop brushes, will work for photshop elements 7.
7 is the newest one, by the way.

I know its photoshop cs4, as well.

Unfortunately, yes, Photoshop brushes do work in Elements and can become addicting. (I just downloaded 2 really cute sets of Easter Bunny brushes and a set of custom shapes.)

It’s also unfortunate that they’re easy to install into Elements. I have PSE6 but installing hasn’t changed too much in the recent versions. You’ll download a zip folder. I usually download the folder to my Desktop so I won’t have to hunt for it. Right click on it and click on Extract All.

Find the extracted folder, right click on it and click Copy. (Don’t open it, just right click on the folder.)

You use Windows Explorer to put the extracted folder into PSE’s Brushes folder. I open Documents and use the Windows Explorer on its left side. Scroll down to Computer and click the +, then click the + next to C:, Click the + next to Program Files, then the + next to Adobe, the + next to Photoshop Elements 7.0. Scroll down and click the + next to Presets and scroll down to Brushes. Click it to open, right click on an empty space in the white area over to the right of WE in area that’s showing the files….make sure you haven’t clicked on any of the files or folders that are showing, and click Paste. Done!

When you’re using the Brush Tool in PSE, go up to the Brush Selector in the Options Bar above the workspace and click to open it. Up at the top of the dropdown is a box showing the brush set that’s displayed, click to open it and scroll down until you see the name of your new brush set and click on it to load it. If the thumbnails are too small to see well: over on the right side of the Brush Selector are two little arrows. Click on them and at the top of the dropdown that appears, you can choose a larger size thumbnail. I almost went blind until I discovered this;)

The neat thing about the brushes is that not only can you paint and make designs with them but you can choose special brushes when you’re using the Eraser Tool, too, and use the brushes to remove color in a pattern.

Have fun! Oh, and don’t forget to make a folder to store the zip files and extracted folders. Back this folder up every once and awhile and, if anything ever happens to your computer or if you ever have to uninstall/reinstall the program, you’ve still got them and don’t have to go hunting for them.

How come adobe photoshop and indesign wont work properly together?

Well, i just installed indesign cs3 and i would like to open saved files from my photoshop cs3 with my indesign, but it doesnt work. I saved on most of the file formats but indesign doesn’t recognize any of them, so i cant open saved files from PS. Im still new so yeah, help please?

Adobe Indesign and Adobe Photoshop will work together nicely (especially CS3). They are just totally different programs used for different purposes. Photoshop is generally used for raster grapics/photos/effects; whereas Indesign is generally used for layout.

If you would like to use a Photoshop file within Indesign, then you need to

1. create a new document in Indesign (File->New)

2. Place the PSD into that document (File->Place)

3. with in the Place Document dialog box you’ll have to navigate to the desired PSD file and select it, please note the two check boxes at the bottom of the dialog box. It would be a good idea to check the "Show Import Options" box. This will allow you to set the initial layer transparency within Indesign. You can always change these settings in Indesign by going to Object->Object Layer Options.

How do I photoshop a picture to make the person in it look realistically nude?

My friend has some pictures of herself in a swimsuit and she’s betting me that I can’t find a way to edit them and make her look nude. I want to know if this is within reason, and how I would go about doing this. I have Photoshop CS2. Thanks.

How come in Photoshop my icon mouse thing turns into a hand and i cant do anything?

How come in Photoshop my cursor turns into a hand and i cant do anything?
How does this hapen and how can i fix it?
I’m not using a hand tool its like when i make another layer or using any tool or when i add effects and things like that my cursor becomes a hand like randomly

When your opening a new layer or creating something new the hand cursor automatically appears and takes the place of your regular arrow cursor, Photoshop gives you the option of movement and adjustment (the hand cursor) but, if you do not want to move or adjust what you have just done to photoshop simply, click back over to the arrow cursor on the tool bar. If it really bothers you to the point that you want the arrow cursor to be permanent unless you tell it otherwise, you can change that in settings.
