Kerli Kõiv (born February 7, 1987), known mononymously as Kerli, is an Estonian singer-songwriter. Her album Love Is Dead charted in the Billboard 200 at #126 in the summer of 2008.

Early life
Kerli was born in Elva, Estonia during the Soviet Union which ended when she was 4 years old. Despite being discouraged, Kerli dropped out of school at the age of 16 to pursue her musical career. As a teen, she studied singing, dancing, acting, and piano. In 2002, she won Fizz Superstar, a singing competition of three Baltic countries with which she gained a singing contract. The contract was unsuccessful and the media in Estonia labeled failure as “Kerli Syndrome”. Kerli has stated she feels no resentment towards her home country, as she told Neon Limelight in a 2008 interview:

” No, I don’t feel any resentment. For a while, because I left Estonia and Estonians didn’t hear anything about me so all these Estonian young singers were like… I guess they’re slowly turning around now and understanding that I really was doing something here. ”

In 2003, she competed in Melodifestivalen but was eliminated in the second semifinals.

In 2004, she was the runner-up in that year’s Eurolaul–a televised competition that determines the song that will represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest–with her song “Beautiful Inside”.

In 2005 she moved to the United States where she continued to perform and write songs, ultimately scoring an audition with L.A. Reid, who signed her to Island Def Jam Music Group in 2006.

Career
2006-2008: Love is Dead and Kerli EP
In 2006, Kerli signed a contract with Island Records. Kerli worked with producer, songwriter, and mixer David Maurice on an autobiographical set of songs, the first batch of which were released on a self-titled EP in 2007 and her debut album, titled Love Is Dead released on July 8, 2008. The music video for the song “Love Is Dead” was released by Island Records on February 29, 2008 and the music video for “Walking on Air” premiered on MTV Overdrive on May 20, 2008. Starting in mid-July 2008, “Walking on Air” got minimal rotation on Top 40 stations. “Walking On Air” was also the free “Single of the Week” on iTunes for the week of July 21, 2008.

Kerli performing in London in 2008.During the 2008 season finale of So You Think You Can Dance?, Fox used Kerli’s video for “Walking on Air” for part of a commercial promoting their new show Fringe. Kerli also performed the song at the 2008 Scream Awards. Kerli’s song “Creepshow” was used in the game Burnout Paradise for its in-game soundtrack and by Fox for its promotion of Fringe’s April 7, 2009 return.

She was chosen to perform the theme for the 2008 videogame Quantum of Solace, “When Nobody Loves You”. She also can be heard performing track number 6, entitled Bulletproof, on the official soundtrack of Punisher: War Zone.

In June 2009, “Walking on Air” received much airplay in Italy, Austria, and Germany. It was in the KroneHit top 20 chart for the week ending June 26.

2009-Present: Almost Alice and second studio album
Kerli lent her voice to the film Hired Gun, playing the character of Morgan. On September 10, Island Def Jam announced Kerli’s iPhone application and the first song, Saima was released the following month. Kerli re-released the single “The Creationist”, which is a duet with the Italian songwriter Cesare Cremonini.

Kerli received an European Border Breakers Award for the success of the album Love Is Dead in Estonia. On January 12, 2010, the track listing for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland soundtrack Almost Alice was released and features two songs by Kerli, “Tea Party” and “Strange” which is a collaboration with Tokio Hotel. On February 19, 2010, Kerli performed “Tea Party”, “Walking On Air” and “Strange” at the Alice in Wonderland Ultimate Fan Event.

Kerli is currently working on her second studio album and stated she’s developing a “new musical style called Bubble Goth” and that the Love Is Dead album was “really moody and dark and introverted, so this album is actually more fun, but it still has that twistedness. So I’m really trying to develop a whole new sound-scape that I don’t think I’ve heard before”. The album is expected to be released in fall 2010 and precede a tour.

BonVoyage1000 Illegal Pyramid Scam? You Bet! {Warning!}

Any pyramid that involves filling head hunting positions of 6 to actually get paid is considered illegal by the FTC which immediately labels it as an illegal pyramid scam called a figleaf.

If a person actually got a % from a product purchase from a new signup without having to fill the matrix that would be a different story. That is not the case in this illegal pyramid and I plan on making a upcoming video to warn others and expose it. Products have to be itemized where the distributor earns a % and there has to be income from at least 50% of customer base or it’s illegal. If the primary source of income comes from only recruiting it is a typical filling head hunting positions with no product focus. This is pretty easy to expose based on that information. Many con artists and outright scammers love the 2×2 concept and some may actually be nice people trying to make a quick buck but if they really where good people their focus would not be on the promotion of money but the actual product or service as that is the only thing that holds the infrastructure for longevity success.

Leading people to success requires one follows and complies with the law.

Also some typical things one must look at when considering an opportunity is does the company owner have an address and photo on their corporate website? A lot of 2×2′s don’t…

If this business was product or service focused retail only would you pay the money to buy the product or service minus the opportunity? If the answer is no then what does that tell you? in a legitimate business if I asked that question one would say I’d buy the product regardless about earning income and the opportunity then that is a good thing.
