How would I go about starting a web design portfolio for future employers to see?

March 23rd, 2010 by admin

I am a recent college graduate, I am looking for a web design job, but how can I get a job and get professional experience if I don’t have any in the first place?

one thing you can do is creating an online portfolio to kindof showcase your work.

getting the job portion might be a bit harder, you may have to start out as a intern first, or even at a different position.

Besides that, you can do stuff such as volunteering and helping them with their IT needs i.e. there webpage.

Are there salaried web design jobs and what degree/certification do I need?

March 20th, 2010 by admin

I’ve been working with PHP/MySQL for about 2 years now and I have designed six web sites using this technology. The web sites have been small and simple, but everyone has loved them. I would like to move on to the next level of web design. What web design degrees are available and what kinds of salaried jobs are available? I am not attached to PHP; if competing technology offers a better paying/more secure job, I would prefer that. Thank you.

okay well im going to school for web graphic design

you can get an associates, bachelors (and bachelors of fine arts)…you MAY be able to get a masters not too sure bout that

you can make around 57 thousand a year but it depends how far in your education you got *what degree* and your experience.

theres many different types of jobs to go with that too because the more education and experience you have the better job you have

Where can I find a good web design affiliate program?

March 18th, 2010 by admin

I am not good at web design but would still like to offer web design services. Do you know of any companies that offer a commission per sale for a website? I do not want to create a website and have an affiliate link, I would rather go to local businesses and see if they are interested in having a website created for them.

So basically I go to a business, see if they want a website. If they do, somehow I can refer them to a company and make a certain amount per sale.

Do you have any companies in mind?

Great question!

I do a bit of freelancing myself, and actually have referred a few businesses to a local web design firm here in Oregon. They do work nationally, and paid me a 10% finders fee. They’re called Alphabetix. Check them out!

From the time I was eleven I’ve been into designing websites. Now I’m eighteen years old and looking into pursing web design as a career.I’m not stupid,I know that what I know about web design now isn’t nearly enough to get a job with.I’m planning on either going to college or taking a course on web design, but before I can make this kind of choice I need to know:

Is it difficult to break into the web design industry, even with proof of college or college level education and a portfolio?

Not hard

Start by learning HTML
